The Church Choir at the 11:00am service sets the undertone for worship by leading congregational singing. It also plays the role of edifier (teacher-encourager) through the singing of a variety of sacred vocal and choral works, ranging from early music to classics of the choral repertoire through to contemporary and popular compositions of present day composers and arrangers. Through its ministry, the choir aims to:
• Promote a culture of musical excellence that encourages all to give their best in worship.
• Lead by example, support and enrich congregational worship at the 11:00am service.
• Speak the gospel through music at worship services, special church events and in concerts.
• Promote spiritual, social and musical growth among and within its members.
The choir year is divided into two terms; January to May and July to November. The choir sings at the 11am service on every 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. Choir practices are held from 9am to 1045am on the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sundays of the month.
All regular worshippers who have a passion for singing to and for the Lord are welcomed to join the choir. However choir members are required to make a commitment to maintain a healthy attendance for rehearsals. No prior experience is needed, as vocal and musicianship training will be provided.
