The Church Choir at the 11:00am service sets the undertone for worship by leading congregational
singing. It also plays the role of edifier (teacher-encourager) through the singing of a variety
of sacred vocal and choral works, ranging from early music to classics of the choral repertoire
through to contemporary and popular compositions of present day composers and arrangers. Through
its ministry, the choir aims to:
- Promote a culture of musical excellence that encourages all to give their
best in worship.
- Lead by example, support and enrich congregational worship at the 11:00am
service.
- Speak the gospel through music at worship services, special church events
and in concerts.
- Promote spiritual, social and musical growth among and within its members.
The choir year is divided into two terms; January to May and July to
November. When the choir is in session, it is in attendance at the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the
month. Pre-service rehearsals are held at 10 am on these Sundays. Practices are held between
1.30pm to 3.30pm every Sunday after lunch fellowship except the 2nd Sunday as follows:

Choir officers are appointed by the Session, and current
officers are:
- Ministry Leader: Alan Chia
- Choral Director: Tan Tong Jen, Kee Kirk Chin
- Administration Secretary/Librarian: Loo Sor Tee
- Membership Secretary: Loh Shu Ching, Elder Phyllis Wee
All regular worshippers who have a passion for singing to and for the
Lord are welcomed to join the choir. However choir members are required to make a commitment to
maintain a healthy attendance for rehearsals to be eligible to sing during worship. No prior
experience is needed, as vocal and musicianship training will be provided. Members will however
only take part in practices and rehearsals until the Choral Director(s) are satisfied with their
attendance and progress.
